Originally written by the Philadelphia Soul specialists Leon Gamble and Kenny Huff and recorded by The O’Jays back in 1973, Jamaican collective Third World later re-recorded Now That We Found Lovein a reggae-disco style. Bringing the track back up to date for 2017, Vintage Remix have enlisted UK-based producer and live performer RuN RiOT – one of the most exciting and unique electronic artists, receiving widespread acclaim for his eclectic blend of rock infused big beats and breaks.
VINTAGE REMIX is a new joint venture label between the legendary ISLAND RECORDS and the team behindWHITE MINK productions – Dan O’Neill (Groove Armada, Lovebox), Nick Perring (Freshly Squeezed Music) and Chris Tofu (Continental Drifts, Shangri La Glastonbury and soon to be honoured as an MBE for his services to live arts). Vintage Remix reframes the past and updates it to modern tastes – finally giving a name to the re-contextualisation of these sounds.
Putting a fresh spin on the sounds of yesterday for the audience of today, Vintage Remix work with artists and producers from around the world to create remixes and re-recordings of Island Records’ heritage back catalogue. Already making a name for themselves with their first five releases, the label will continue to put out individual singles, culminating in the first VINTAGE REMIX compilation album.
Vintage Remix have an established label club night presence with an impressive live set up, curating line-ups that breathe new life to classic tracks and turn the festival experience on its head, transporting revellers back to yesteryear with a feel-good blend of vintage-influenced sounds from some of the world’s top remix DJs. Last summer, the collective closed Glastonbury’s legendary Shangri-La for the third year running and have also rocked tents at Latitude, Secret Garden Party, Love Supreme and Bestival.
