Trouble

Parov Stelar reveals infectious new song ‘Trouble’

Electro swing pioneer Parov Stelar has teamed up with Nikki Williams for “Trouble,” a jaunty dance track premiering exclusively on Billboard.

“T-R-O-U-B-L-E/ I'm the good kind of bad, come play with me,” Williams spells out, luring listeners with impressive, twangy vocals reminiscent of KT Tunstall‘s “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree.”

“I'm so happy how this turned out. Nikki's voice is a perfect match,” Stelar tells Billboard of the track. As for the inspiration, Williams explains it's rooted in “the fact that I am trouble when it comes to relationships…I just can't seem to get it right yet!”

Stelar, now an signee, is nothing of a newcomer to the game — the 43-year-old's The Paris Swing Box EP and The Demon Diaries both notched top-25 slots on Billboard‘s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, thanks to hits like “Booty Swing” — and his ambitiousness signals that he's ready to take a big step forward.

The multi-talented producer tells Billboard that he dreams of an Adelecollaboration and a Daft Punk joint tour, but in the meantime, he's locked down several European arena tour dates in the spring. And while gearing up for will definitely be a big 2019, he is remaining grounded through it all.

“One of the things that I find important is to constantly work on your personality and develop as an artist,” he says. “Then there will be more touring and working on tons of new music, but never forget that there are other things in life that are more important than all of that.”
