AV AV AV begin 2018 with the first EP of a new series of releases under the name Fundamental Physics. This series is an outlet for the more club sound that the band has – an element which is often a large part of their live sound but is not a large part of their releases.
“We all have a thing for club music, and we have some tracks that we do not think fit on the album that we are currently working on, but that we want to share anyway. The people that have heard us live know that this is also very much a part of our sound” AV AV AV explain. It has been important for the three producers to have an outlet where spontaneity can live, where they can play around more and develop this more club side of their music – and this will happen on their new play area; Fundamental Physics.
Fundamental Physics Vol. 1 will be the first EP in the series and moves within the genres of classic house, UK house and elektro/breakbeat. The EP leans towards the more emotional side of club music. The focus is however more on the bass drum rather than the strong melodies that one would normally link to the sound of AV AV AV. “We have already tested some of the new tracks in our live set and when playing as DJs and they work really well, we are very excited to share them with our fans”.
The EP consists of three tracks where Forget and Balance came from drafts made before some of the numerous live sets AV AV AV have done over this year. Never Get Old was made in a summerhouse in a lo-fi house jam session. If you like producers/DJs such as Bicep, Dennis Sulta, Keri Chandler and John Roberts, then you are in for a treat on Fundamental Physics Vol. 1.
The series Fundamental Physics is about catching a certain vibe on each EP. As mentioned Vol. 1 centers around the emotional house genre, while it could move in many other directions on the future EPs, such as straight up techno and electro.
AV AV AV released their first EP They Live in 2015 and gained media attention in Denmark and abroad. It was play-listed on BBC ́s Radio 1 whist super producer Diplo praised the music calling it ”future gospel”. Over the years their live shows have received brilliant reviews at international and Danish festivals including By:Larm, Sonár Reykjavik/Stockholm/Copenhagen, Spot Festival, Roskilde Festival, Tinderbox and Northside. In March 2017 they released their second EP Everything is True which was critically acclaimed throughout the Danish media and got mentions in Mixmag and Complex. Tracks from the EP have been played on BBC’s Radio 1 amongst others.
