From a hidden corner of Nothern Italy, dance duo Bout is poised to make an impact on the festival field and dark club dancefloor. The two exceptional and talented youthful producers, also known by the names of Stefano Cornali and Andrea Viscardi, are rooted in technical prowess and a sharp ear for sound design. Debuting in early 2016, Bout have managed to deliver quality and catchy singles on various labels, such as Flamingo Recordings and sister label Big & Dirty, with one of their latest great achievements being the release of “Fall in Line” (w/ Maximals & SOVTH) on Nicky Romero’s imprint, Protocol Recordings.
Building their reputation in just two years time, the budding duo garnered the support of Dannic, Firebeatz, W&W, Ummet Ozcan, Lucas & Steve and Sick Individuals, just to name a few, and now they are looking to set in stone their early success with some huge releases in 2018. Fresh off their first release of the year, an edit for SOVTH’s ‘My House’ on Flamingo Recordings, Viralbpm sat down with Bout to discuss about their influences and future plans, but also hobbies and side activities.
V1. Bout, 2017 was an awesome year for you with a lot of cool highlights, like for example the fact that Fall In Line was featured in the Ultra Music Aftermovie. How do you feel this kind of recognition?
Bout: 2017 has been an amazing year for us,we achieved a lot of goals we couldn’t even imagine when we started out this project. We’ve been featured in the UMF official after movie and our first release of the year ‘a better soul’ is still going strong on Spotify with +2.5M streams. We want to say thank you to everybody who has been part of this unforgettable year and to everyone who is supporting us everyday.
V2. What do you have planned regarding releases and songs for 2018? Anything you would like (and can) reveal to us at this moment?
Bout: 2018 is going to be huge for us,this is the only thing we can say. Just follow us on our socials we will announce some big news veeeery soon.
V3. What plans do you have regarding touring and live shows?
Bout: We are already planning a super cool summer tour for 2018. We will have some gigs here and there just before it. These last months have been crazy for us. We spent literally everyday in the studio preparing new stuff for 2018.
V4. With a heavy and loaded schedule like yours, do you have enough time to focus on other things aside from music related things? Any hobbies or side activities?
Bout: It’s not alway easy but we do our best to find some free time for our hobbies, family and friends. We both play soccer and golf when we are not in our studio producing new music.
V5. Is it always easy to work together as a duo? How did you decide to follow a professional music career together as a team?
Bout: Everything started by chance right two years ago. We had know each others just for a little while at that time when we decided to try something together. Then we came up with our first single which was released on Spinnin TP. It’s not always rosy but we have a great feeling and almost same taste in music and same goals.
V6. Are there any artists, songs or albums that influenced you as artists?
Bout: We’re really attracted from 80s music! We always try to add a groovy and funky vibe to our tracks. We literally love all the new Australian scene! From there we find a lot of inspiration listening to artists like Ta-ku, Chet Faker , Basenji and many more.
