Just as the Summer of 2017 begins to wind down, MK is excited to announce the release of his Summer go to track and anticipated new single, ‘17’ on Area 10/Sony/Columbia. Buy/stream MK – 17here.
The release of ‘MK – 17’ coincides with some of the closing dates of a very busy summer for MK. Summer 2017 has performed dates in the States, launched his first mini Area10 festival in Ireland, with 4999 tickets selling out in record breaking time. With headline slots at We R Festival, Melt in Germany, his own Area 10 stages at Creamfields, SW4 and Croatia’s Defected Festival, 2017 has been one of his busiest years so far. MK has also played a vast number of dates in Ibiza this summer, at venues including Amnesia and Pacha.
‘MK – 17’ features Marc Kinchen’s trademark piano chords with guest Carla Monroe’s authentic vocal delivery tops the underlying track with an uplifting topline melody.
MK’s use of a constant powerful bassline pays homage to a vibe that hints of a retro house tone. The resulting anthem has been going off across Europe and at various festivals this summer, receiving frequent spins at Creamfields, Hidelout, Lost & Found, SW4, Tomorrowland, Melt as well as at various Ibiza clubs and beach bars, including the iconic Cafe Mambo, Pacha, and Amnesia.
Through his great live sets and infectious remixes for the likes of Rihanna, London Grammar, Clean Bandit and Solardo, MK has become one of the most popular and in demand names in dance music. Several of his earlier releases, including ‘Always’ and ‘Burning’, “Push The Feeling On” were instrumental in helping dance music cross over into mainstream, whilst his remix of Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’ hit the Number 1 spot in the UK back in 2013.
Prior to recent release ‘My Love 4 U’ (feat A*M*E), MK’s 2016 Gold selling hit ‘Piece of Me’ (feat. Becky Hill) became a summer staple, garnering just under 40 million Spotify plays in the process, proving that MK remains at the top of his game as a DJ, producer and curator, with ‘17’ set to dominate radio play and club dancefloors well into the new year.
