Two of the biggest names in music right now, The Chainsmokers & Coldplay, just surprised the world with an unexpected release of their massive collaboration, ‘Something Just Like This‘.
‘Something Just Like This‘ is part of their upcoming album, Memories: Do Not Open, which was confirmed to consist of all new music besides the recently released ‘Paris', and now also, ‘Something Just Like This'. This new release comes just after The Chainsmoker's massive hit, ‘Closer', broke the record for most weeks in the Top 5 of the Billboard's Hot 100 chart by spending 6 months in the upper tier, longer than even bruno mars' ‘Uptown Funk'. No question about it, The Chainsmokers make hit songs, and ‘Something Just Like This‘ just might be their biggest hit yet.
Taking the stage at this year's Brit Awards, music legends Coldplay along with Grammy winners The Chainsmokers, performed their newest hit, ‘Something Just Like This'. Released shortly after the event aired, this collaboration was easily one of the best performances of the night, and served as the perfect marketing platform for their new hit. In attendance as well that evening were artists none other than adele, Beyonce, Drake, and A Tribe Called Quest, all who took home the gold as well.
A live performance in front of thousands, the event was a spectacle to say the least. Opening with both Alex and Drew on instrumentals, Coldplay's stunning display of harmonies and overall stage presence set it aside from other acts like Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran. Not only were the two able to create a melodic environment through their sound, the stage design, colors, graphics, and general aesthetic really helped bring the song to epic proportions.
Both Grammy winners, this match made in musical heaven was released just in time for the industry's biggest period, 2017's festival season. Set to be included in their upcoming album Memories: Do Not Open, the 12 track release is expected to hit shelves early April, and is available now for Pre-order here.
