After having been tested at some of the biggest festivals and events this summer, MK released his new single, ‘MY LOVE 4 U’ featuring A*M*E on Area10/Columbia/Ultra on the 4th of November.
In just a short time, the tune has become a highlight in both MK’s sets and on stage; after surprising this years audience at V Festival with a live vocal performance from A*M*E. Her rich distinctive vocals lead the track over uplifting chords and a subtle bass line, whilst MK’s trademark chopped sampling creates a catchy chorus line.
The release of ‘My Love 4 U’ closes out an incredible summer season for MK, who launched his Area10 brand with successful single ‘Piece Of Me’, featuring talented UK vocalist Becky Hill. A series of stages at the likes of Parklife, Creamfields and Tomorrowland followed, as well as a residency at world-famous Ibiza institution Pacha.
MK was born and grew up in Detroit, the city that has been labelled as the true breeding ground of house and techno music. Over the last few years, MK has swiftly become one of the world’s most in-demand producers and remixers.
Several of his earlier releases, including ‘Always’ and ‘Burning’, were instrumental in first helping dance music cross over into the mainstream. He’s well known for his remix of Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’ – which hit #1 in the UK singles chart – and that of Wankelmut & Emma Louise’s ‘My Head Is A Jungle’.
He’s since remixed Lana Del Rey, Sam Smith, Rudimental, Katy B, Bastille, London Grammar, Rufus Du Sol and Pharrell to name but a few; his version of Aurora’s ‘I Went Too Far’ is his latest remix success.
With a sold out Area 10 show at Manchester’s renowned The Warehouse Project and an Australian tour in the works, it’s clear that MK remains at the top of his game as a DJ, producer and curator.
