On ‘Secret', HALIENE (whose previous work includes team-ups with seven lions, illenium, slander, ATB, Ferry Corsten, blasterjaxx and Aly & Fila) walks a dazzlingly fine lyrical/vocal line. The LA-based singer's introspectively from-within song drops an emotional depth charge, which she brings vividly to life through her now instantly recognisable voice.
Through his production somna tracks her tone instinctively, boxing clever with hints and tints that channel a number of electronic music styles. In its formative stages the Canadian nods at progressive, while his synth and plucked string work deliver the midsection its lift.
