Mixhell have curated a vibrant and eclectic “Strong & Wrong Remix EP“, with the release featuring reworks from the likes of Craig Williams, Johnny Broke, and Future Sounds of Antwerp.
Released on Mixhell's Delayed Records, the new Strong & Wrong Remix EP sees the husband & wife duo team up with Joe Goddard & Mutado Pintado once more following the 2016 release of ‘Crocodile Boots'. With themes of poetry and life running throughout, their ‘Strong & Wrong' EP has received great support so far with the addition to BBC Radio 6's playlist as well as plays from key tastemakers such as The Black Madonna (BBC Radio 1), Coco Cole (Capital Xtra), Lauren Laverne, Nemone and Mary Anne Hobbs.
With Australian producer Craig Williams spinning his own take on the EP-titled ‘Strong & Wrong', the LA-based artist – who has previously produced with the likes of Green Velvet, delivers a thumping club mix and also provides a deeper dub-cut. The imagination is of stark contrast to the offering of glitch and breakcore specialist Johnny Broke, who fuses his own take on ‘Bella' with drone-inspired tones.
Rounding off the package with synth-led twists, Future Sounds of Antwerp, the Belgian duo making waves on Soulwax's DeeWee label, merges new school beats to create a pumping ‘Strong & Wrong' delivery. The mixes have picked up support from the aston shuffle on Triple J (Craig Williams remix), Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan, PBR Streetgang, Horse Meat Disco, Richard Dorfmeister, Tronik Youth, Coco Cole (again!), Tim Sweeney, digitalism and more.
Producing and performing together since 2004, Mixhell started touring in Europe and US around 2007. After collaborating with many artists such as diplo, MSTRKRFT, 2manydjs and DJ Hell, they have built a solid underground career in electronic music in which they would perform with live instruments. Moving from Sao Paulo to London in 2013 led Mixhell to work closely with Soulwax, recording and performing their most recent album ‘From Deewee' as part of their 7 piece band.
