Taken from his upcoming 5-track EP this summer, Couros has delivered the follow up single to his April release ‘Young’ with his lusciously downtempo new track ‘Undertone.’
Utilising the sultry vocals of London-based singer/songwriter Alyss, best known for her single ‘MisKayani’,‘Undertone’ showcases rich summer melodies and silky chord patterns to create an enchanting and wistful hit.
Released on PMR Records, the label famed for some of the UK’s most cutting edge talent in recent years, including Disclosure, Jessie Ware, and Julio Bashmore, ‘Undertone’ follows Couros’ recent feat oftopping the Hype Machine chart.
Having previously worked with Rihanna and Nicki Minaj’s producer Parker Ighile, Couros’ sound represents a mid-tempo blend of bass waves and minimal melodic tones to flavour his music with raw, emotive, sounds.
Citing Gorillaz as his musical influence, Couros’ debut EP “Jupiter” was met with acclaim across the board, with single ‘Breathe Again’ racking up over 8 million streams, gaining support from the likes of Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Mistajam, and Zane Lowe.
“The label have been so great in helping me finish the music”, added Couros. “They really backed up whatever direction I had and were so accommodating to other ideas, and I’m excited to continue working with them”
‘Undertone’ is set for release on 16th May, and precedes the eagerly anticipated release of Couros’ upcoming 5-track EP.
