Australian DJ and producer Sonny Fodera has unveiled his brand new production, the highly infectious toe-tapper ‘Take Me Down’, which features the vocals of Sonny’s long-time collaborator, Alex Mills.
Having previously worked together on 2016 stomper ‘Always Gonna Be’, which has racked up over 7 million Spotify streams, Sonny and Alex team up once more to create an addictive summer anthem strewn with deep basslines, and the club-floor ready tones Sonny has become famed for, thanks to his own groove driven blend of emotive house which now resonates around the world.
“I wanted to work with Alex Mills since she did the vocals on ‘Something Special’ with Miguel Campbell,” added Sonny. “I really loved the track. My manager hooked us up, she wrote a top line over this beat I had (Always Gonna Be), and she came into my studio and we recorded the vocal. We have been working quite a lot together since then.”
A hugely popular and dynamic producer, Sonny Fodera has enjoyed a busy touring schedule in recent times, selling out his Solotoko Show at Manchester Academy in April, with another sold out Solotoko party scheduled at XOYO London on 6th May, where Sonny will play a 4 hour set.
Taking his deep brand of house worldwide for 2018, Sonny will also perform on the mainstage of Live Festival Dublin, and the BBC Radio 1 stage at Reading & Leeds Festivals, with a 9 date residency already pencilled in at Ibiza Rocks. With further performances at We Are FSTVL, and across Sonny’s USA Tour in June (LA, Palm Springs, San Fransisco, Washington, etc), ‘Take Me Down’ is sure to serve as an anthem that will echo around the globe this year.
Releasing ‘Take Me Down’ on BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Danny Howard’s label, ‘Nothing Else Matters’, Danny stated: “Everyday I’m discovering new tracks and extremely talented artists. Aside from supporting them on air and on the dancefloor, I’ve always wanted a way to help even more people hear these incredible sounds.”
So far the label has hosted releases from 99 Souls, Après, Eli Brown, George Kwali & Kideko, GotSome, Guz & Tough Love, Illyus & Barrientos, Just Kiddin, KC Lights, Kydus, Mambo Brothers, Mason Maynard, Metroplane, SAINT WKND, Secondcity and Solardo among others. And well as being a record label, Nothing Else Matters promotes clubbing events across the UK and Europe. The brand holds a weekly residency every summer in Majorca, regularly throws parties on the Terrace at Amnesia in Ibiza, hosted a stage at the prestigious SW4 festival last August, with many more live events planned for 2018.
