LA-based songwriter, producer and DJ, Sj, is back with another thoughtful dance-inspired record with “Flicker” featuring Svrcina on Enhanced Music. This record channels Sj's past relationship uncertainties through a story that is nostalgic and relatable to anyone who's been in love. “Flicker” follows Sj's first release “Hung Up,” a collaboration between him and Tritonal, which set his career off in the right direction with 30 million+ streams to date. This led to Sj signing to Tritonal's label Enhanced, who have touted him as the imprint's next big thing. He's also joined Tritonal on select dates of their Horizon Tour alongside seven lions and special guest kill the noise and was most recently added to tritonia 200 taking place January 19 at Showbox SoDo in Seattle Washington alongside BRKLYN and apek.
“Flicker is a song I believed in as soon as I wrote it. My writing process is usually one where I co-write the lyrics, melody, chords, and produce the track. This was the case with Flicker and it gives me a very deep connection to the song. I tend to write my songs with a friend or two and I wrote this one with MikeM and the vocalist on the song, an amazing artist named Svrcina. This was the first time she and I worked together and she immediately became one of my favorite voices. Her tone really helps to convey the emotion. Together we told the story of a past relationship that you hope isn't really over. I wanted to capture the uncertain feeling of wondering if someone still feels the same way about you as you feel about them. That emotion is Flicker.”
Besides putting his time in writing and recording music, Sj also makes a concerted point to spend time providing relief efforts with his charity, One Life which is based in Nashville, TN and operates to help girls in Calcutta, India. The goal of Sj's charity, One Life, is to transform the lives of impoverished girls, many of which whom have endured physical, mental, sexual and economic abuse within their communities.
Through One Life, Sj is working toward building a better, safer environment for these girls in India but most importantly, once someone is brought into the One Life home, they are taken care of and provided a full education and resources to break the cycle of abuse and poverty.
