Norwegian breakthrough artist Sonny Alven has teamed up with GOLDENS to create effortlessly smooth new single ‘Cool With You', out now via Universal Music.
The down-tempo melodic hit follows Sonny's previous 2017 successes, including Dragonette collaboration ‘Awake' and his highly acclaimed Girls EP, which has so far received over 7 million Spotify plays. Having worked with a string of upcoming talent from around the world, Sonny's latest serving focuses on the rich vocals of GOLDENS who laces the soft percussive release with sultry tones.
Speaking on the message behind the track, Sonny explains: “You know when you meet someone special, and you want this someone to just take control over you, and show emotions? Well that's what ‘Cool With You' is about. In the song it's this female character who just takes total control over this male character, sexually. I hope ‘Cool With You' will make you dance, but also reveal some hidden feelings when you hear the song.”
Gaining recognition with his 2016 track ‘California Girls‘, which has garnered over 18 million Spotify streams to date, Sonny's breakthrough original “Our Youth” featuring Emmi was a huge hit in Norway, amassing over 33 million streams on Spotify and secured his status as both UMG Nordic Priority Act and Spotify Spotlight Artist for 2016, with four successive weeks at #2 in the official radio charts.
Sonny's European success hasn't gone unnoticed on the other side of the pond. He was invited to play at the Splash House Festival in Palm Springs and various other shows in the US, including supporting Galantis in New York, Matt Zo in Washington and Jerry Folk in San Diego, while also playing the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans. A skilled DJ, Sonny also enjoys playing with live artists to take his shows to the next level. Having studied electronic music at university, he brings solid technical skills as a producer and a DJ.
Having embarked on a series of live dates this summer through his native Norway, where Sonny fused his trademark punchy piano chords with stomping basslines, ‘Cool With Me' acts as a polished and well-rounded release which showcases the productional skills and diversity of one of music's fastest rising talents.
