Having teased fans with a mysterious tweet that simply read “Jan 27 2017“, the last few weeks have seen Axwell Λ Ingrosso fans speculating as to what the date could possibly mean, with many rumours even circulating online of a Swedish House Mafia reunion ahead of this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
But now, it seems all has become much clearer, with both Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso both taking to their social media channels to confirm that their big announcement is that of a fresh incoming track by the name of “I Love You.”
The vocalised release, featuring American rapper Kid Ink, fuses an orchestral harmony with a typically electronic opening, and has a heavy hip-hop beat running through the track.
The release was first premiered during the duo’s live performance at Sunburn Festival in India in December 2016.
As We Rave You reports, prefixing the tweet with “001”, both members of the electronic act announced that the track would be released on 10th February 2017.
But with manager Amy Thomson confirming that this is just the first in a series of announcements from the Swedish superstars, many have been speculating as to what further coming announcements may entail.
One theory is that “002” may well be the impending release of a debut studio album, which would contain several of the duo’s hit singles, including “Sun Is Shining“, “Dream Bigger” and “On My Way“, as well as individual work such as Axwell’s “Barricade” and Sebastian Ingrosso’s “Dark River.”
After a simply mammoth 2016 in which the former SHM members played a historic set at Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall as part of ADE, and sold-out two shows at the Steel Yard venue in Liverpool and London; it looks like 2017 is just the beginning of another gigantic year for these dance legends!
