[av_textblock size=” font_color=” color=”] Radiohead have undeniably been one of the most influential bands of our generation. Seamlessly bridging the gap between rock and electronica, the British band have gone on to become one of the greatest artists on the face of the earth ever since they debuted their single ‘Creep‘ to the world back in 1992, which has since gone onto become their most iconic track to date.
While there have been numerous covers of the track till date, Ember Island‘s haunting rendition of ‘Creep‘ takes it a notch above. With just stripped down, minimal elements and stirring vocals giving the track a life of its own, it’s hard not to drown in the poignancy Ember Island deliver through the cover.
The Swedish trio have also released a music video for the cover, with some gorgeous underwater cinematography that’ll leave you spellbound.
As Billboard put it: “It’s a tough one to cover. It’s so iconic, and yet Swedish trio Ember Island have managed to turn the unforgettable loser anthem into a breathtaking work of art all their own. It’s a much more subtle composition than the original with a cinematic touch that seems perfect for the end of any edgy coming-of-age film. We used to think it was the jarring guitar that made “Creep” so awesome. Now we stand corrected.
The video is equally sensual and very mysterious. Some faceless people are either swimming or drowning in a sea of emotions. Radiohead will do that to a person.”
