After releasing “Slide” and “Heatstroke,” Calvin Harris has officially announced his Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 album on Columbia Records, the follow-up to 2014's Motion. The Scottish producer puts Big Sean, Pharrell and Katy Perry on the same track, titled “Feels“.
As expected, the upcoming album has an all-star cast, featuring guest appearances from Frank Ocean, Future, Kehlani, Pharrell, Young Thug, Katy Perry, Travis Scott, Big Sean, john legend, Khalid, migos, Schoolboy Q, Ariana Grande, D.R.A.M., Nicki Minaj, Lil Yachty, Jessie Reyez, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Snoop Dogg.
The track starts off with some distorted guitar a la Dire Straits and quickly moves into a bouncy, piano-fueled section with vocals from Pharrell. Katy handles the choruses, and Big Sean comes in during a sudden switch-up about half-way in.
Calvin's track with Katy, which turned out to be “Feels,” was rumored to be a Taylor Swift diss track based on Katy's history with Taylor. Well, based on Big Sean's verse, that really seems to be the case.
