In 2017 Gramatik, real name Denis Jasarević, embarked on his current US Re:Coil Tour and took some time off to finish up a number of open projects. Looking ahead in 2018, Gramatik has just announced he will be capping the year’s festival season with a highly-anticipated annual return to the legendary Colorado venue, Red Rocks. Watch Gramatik At Red Rocks below.
Much like the people he admires (think Elon Musk, Nikola Tesla and the like) Gramatik continues to forge his own path, navigating the precarious waters of the music industry with the prowess of an ancient sailor, and proving himself as a relentless musical force along the way. Following two attention-grabbing collaborations in 2017 – first with GRiZ on “As We Proceed” and then with Ramzoid on a remix of Flume’s track “Wall Fuck” – he announced his next big release, “Re:Coil Part I,” with three singles that showed he has no problem tackling different genres. Gramatik then headed out on a huge fall tour across the EU, visiting 26 cities along the way and celebrating the release of a highly anticipated new EP at the legendary Parisian venue- Zénith Paris. Even still he had another ace up his sleeve.
As one of the pioneering artists embracing crypto-culture and the new blockchain-based technologies that work towards decentralization, he launched his own token, GRMTK, in collaboration with SingularDTV on November 9th during his show in Zurich. Gramatik will be testing them in 2018 when his follow-up “Re:Coil Part II” is completed and ready to drop.
The main live event of the year will undoubtedly be his September 1st show at Red Rocks, which to this day remains one of Gramatik’s favorite places on Earth. He will also be bringing some incredible talent with him starting with special guest and recent Lowtemp signee, Balkan Bump, who has just released his debut EP and will be joining Gramatik on stage for his set. In charge of bringing the crowd to a boiling point, Gramatik has also recruited three additional acts to warm up the stage prior to his headline performance: Gryffin, Haywyre, and Ramzoid.
Fellow NYC producer and multi-instrumentalist Gryffin has recently been on the cusp of a major breakthrough with his melody-rich style of house music. He is known for some of the biggest remixes of 2017 and has already seen a significant amount of success including #1 placements on Hype Machine and hitting 100 million streams online. Also on the bill, there’s the keyboard maestro Haywyre.
As a classically trained protégé of Monstercat Records, Haywyre has been astounding the musical world with his incredible blend of electronic genres like dubstep and glitch hop with classical and jazz piano, and has established himself as one of the most highly esteemed producers out there. Last but not least, hailing from Canada’s Prince Edward Island, Ramzoid is regarded as one of the most exciting young producers working in electronic music. Aside from releasing incredible original material showcasing his forward-looking, trap-oriented style, he also continues to put out excellent remixes for the likes of Jai Wolf, Louis The Child, CRNKN, Paper Lions and more.
Denis Jasarević, better known by his stage name- Gramatik, is an electronic artist, musician, and producer from Portorož, Slovenia. His styles and influences are mostly a blend of dubstep, electro, trip hop, hip hop, and glitch. He grew up influenced by American hip hop artists like RZA, Dr. Dre, DJ Premier, Tupac, and the European electronic scene and music of the early 2000s.
Gramatik has released nine albums, three EPs, numerous singles and remixes, and was nominated for a European MTV Music Award in 2014. In 2013 he established his own record label, Lowtemp, where he began signing aspiring artists from all over the world.
2014 was a breakthrough year for Gramatik in Europe where he gained the level of attention he has seen throughout North America. On his three worldwide tours in support of Epigram, TAOR, and the LYM campaign, he performed to many sold out crowds in cities including Paris, New York, Chicago, Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich, Munich, Copenhagen, Brussels, Red Rocks in Colorado, and huge crowds at major festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella, Lollapalooza South America, Austin City Limits, Ultra, Bonnaroo, BUKU, Electric Forest, Electric ZOO, Decadence, Rock En Seine, Sziget, Sonar, Dour, and Glastonbury, amongst many more.
In 2016, he released his latest album Epigram, followed by the extended Epigram Deluxe release with remixes and unreleased instrumentals at the end of the year. 2017 saw Gramatik embark on a number of international tour dates thanks to the introduction of his new Re:Coil stage set up and subsequent tour, as well as the release of the “Re:Coil Pt. 1” EP and collaborations with GRiZ and Ramzoid.
