Only a few weeks after the release of his excellent and very noticed EP ‘Redux EP 002’, Kaskade surprised his world with the announcement of a Christmas album. Quite rare in the EDM community, this album is not a joke of bad taste on the part of the American but a full and wildly serious release.
Ryan Raddon‘s latest album (a.ka Kaskade), ‘Automatic‘, is already over two years old and fans were impatient to see his successor come. Let’s clear things up quickly, ‘Kaskade Christmas‘ is not a common album and is not made for the sake of popping crowds at EDC Orlando or Opium Toulouse and even less at the Omnia Las Vegas. Indeed, this opus is produced in order to be able to listen to it during the meal of the eve or at the time of the opening of the family gifts at the foot of the tree (that it is cliché …). Exit cannons Co2 and confetti, hello hot chocolates in front of the fireplace.
Just in time for the holidays that are approaching in less than a month now, Kaskade proposes us 13 tracks in the atmosphere alternating between a frozen fairy and a comforting chill vibe that will satisfy you and relax you. This album is a mix between Christmas classics (‘Santa Baby’ and ‘Holy Night’) and original songs (‘It’s Beginning to Snow’ where still ‘Cold December’) including vocals of the producer himself. We also find Ilsey or Skylar Gray who have already collaborated with the DJ originally from Chicago before.
“I have always loved Christmas music. I grew up singing them with my family at church,” Kaskade told a post on his website . “It’s my Christmas album. I like the challenge of making music with which I grew up. ”
Listening to this one we quickly realize that Ryan takes this challenge seriously and makes a beautiful album. No title really stands out (although it is true that we particularly like ‘The First Christmas’, ‘God Rest Ye’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’). It’s nice to listen to and he will surely find his audience on the side of the hardcore fans of the country with the presence of beautiful walks containing beautiful vocals, specialty of Kaskade.
We can only congratulate the artist’s initiative to propose something totally different and that ultimately reflects the artist deep inside himself by revealing himself a little more to his audience.
