Relentless in his pursuit to conjoin elements from various musical influences into a non-genre bound production style, all the while staying true to his classical roots, Adrien Mezsi holds the keys to unlocking the future of the dance music industry in his hand. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, the talented music producer holds an illustrious career spanning years of hard work and experience, which lead him sign record deals with internationally established dance imprints such as Spinnin' Records, d:vision, Strictly Rhythm and size records. His ever-growing support list welcomed the addition of internationally-renowned DJs and producers such as Steve Angello, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Tiësto, David Guetta, Avicii, Kaskade, and numerous others.
2016 witnessed the re-launch of his own imprint Mezsed Up, which rapidly gained momentum among the industry's top influencers, rising to the top as one of the leading record labels in progressive house. Viralbpm sat down with Adrien Mezsi and talked about his upcoming releases, newly-signed artists on Mezsed Up and career achievements, while he reveals his new collabo-remix with his partner in music crime noizy mark on “Mi Gente“ summer anthem of 2017.
V1. Adrien, over the last decade you have received support from the likes of Kaskade, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Tiesto, Steve Angello, Paul Oakenfold, Mark Knight, Max Vangeli and bbc radio 1 DJ Pete Tong, just to name a few. How does this make you feel?
Adrien Mezsi: It's a great feeling to see the idols I studied, support my music. It's a blessing.
V2. Last year you delivered Midnight EP, which was one of the finest EPs of 2017, in collaboration with Noizy Mark. What should we expect from you in 2017?
Adrien Mezsi: Me and Mark have finalized two new singles, along with a few more together. Aside from that there are other collaborations and some new hip hop tracks to look forward too!
V3. You've played in some of the world's biggest EDM venues in the world. Which one is your favorite so far? Any special memory you'd like to mention?
Adrien Mezsi: The Mid in Chicago. Great energy in that city and the people there really appreciate the music well.
V4. Adrien Mezsi, in 2015 you established your own label, Mezsed Up? How did you end up on this decision and how are things going two years after its launch?
Adrien Mezsi: Amazing. It's great to discover and develop new artists. It's also great not having to answer to anyone when putting out my own music. (Laughs)
V5. Mezsed Up's latest weapon comes from Akami & Game Over Djs, titled “Shout”. Any other upcoming records and newly-signed artists on your label we could learn about?
Adrien Mezsi: Lots! Theres new music from Noizy Mark, lee carter, Marcio Lama, Lequ, a few from myself and much more.
V6. Based on what criteria do you choose the tracks you release on Mezsed Up? How difficult is it for a new producer to sign a tune on your imprint?
Adrien Mezsi: I have to love it myself, beyond that it doesn't really matter if its a new/old artist
V7. Which career goals would you say are not fulfilled yet? May we also ask about your collaboration of your dreams?
Adrien Mezsi: Throwing some label events around the world is something we're working towards at right now. As for the collaboration dream would be with Kanye West!
