Avicii’s anticipated sophomore album “Stories”

Avicii‘s long-awaited sophomore album “Stories” is released, giving fans 14 new sound gems.

“Stories” continues the trend Swede Tim Bergling established on True, featuring a range of influences from pop, country, Tropical and more blended with dance music production points and guest vocalists on every track.

Most notable is the fact that Stories marks Avicii’s full departure from typical EDM elements -titled by his fans with the label “Country EDM”- for more song-oriented production.

Michael Brun & Still Young – Check This Out [SIZE]

This latest release on Steve Angello’s hugely respected Size Records is one of the most hotly anticipated of the year. Ever since Steve first dropped the record as far back as Ultra in March, fans of the genre have been eagerly awaiting its release.

A collaboration between Kid Coconut label boss Michael Brun and Still Young, an elusive duo taken under the wing of label boss Steve Angello and the force behind several high profile collaborations, ‘Check This Out’ was always going to cause a stir.

A festival anthem with a cinematic touch, ‘Check This Out’ blends acid-influenced stabs, stomping synths and crescendoing drums with electronic chords and a melancholic guitar melody for a party-ready track with depth. It’s the perfect example of Size Records’ burgeoning catalogue of the highest quality electronic music.

‘Check This Out’ will be released on the 16th October, and already looks set to become a hugely successful record for the imprint.

MPV ft. 3PM – Give Me [Mirage]

Fall is upon us one more year and the notorious, thorough catalogue of Mirage Records, that has become synonymous with bringing young talent through the ranks, keeps expanding giving place up to a brand new energy filled piece.

The Spanish imprint has never been so keen on welcoming a rising artist, who comes oven fresh from the label’s country delivering a groovy record, and this time joining forces with American vocalist 3PM.

Together with some cheesy lyrics and a thumping bassline that collides in the background, MPV with ‘Give Me’ unleashes a melodic, housey vibe an entire dancefloor would fall in love with.

Waysons ft. Charlie Ray – Homeland [Revealed] (Preview)

They were spotted by Chris Avantgarde (SIZE) who signed their title ‘First Flight’ on his next generation label AVANT/GARDE in April 2015. This track encountered a great success and the attention of several prestigious DJs.

According to them, Waysons are two English and Swedish DJ/Producers based in Switzerland planning on inventing a futuristic style that goes through everything they love!

Now, Homeland” their new track on Revealed Recordings -presented by the one and only Hardwell on HOA- serves that purpose.

Sultan Saunder – Overhand [Groove Cartel] (Free)

It’s a fact that Groove Cartel Records gathers some great talents.

It seems that Sultan Saunder from Guadalajara is among them, as his new track called “Overhand” is the 16th release coming on Groove Cartel on October 2nd and it sounds a very well crafted piece.

Hardwell ft. Jake Reese – Mad World [Revealed]

Already five years since Hardwell founded the label, Revealed stands tall as one of the biggest, most prolific, and highly respected names in dance music. Now the imprint celebrates its 200th release, and doing the honours is the boss himself, teaming up with vocalist Jake Reese for the hotly anticipated ‘Mad World’.

First debuted back in March during Hardwell’s set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, ‘Mad World’ instantly became one of the most requested IDs of the entire festival. Teasing fans with the track throughout the summer and receiving universally positive feedback, Hardwell knew ‘Mad World’ deserved a special place on the Revealed release schedule, and the big 200 fits the bill perfectly.

As you’d expect from a Hardwell production, ‘Mad World’ is rammed with uplifting energy from start to finish, but this is far more than your standard club track. At the core of ‘Mad World’ is solid piece of songwriting, with a beautifully melodic structure that overflows with passion and soul. Jake Reese’s vocal performance is powerful yet stunningly understated, providing plenty of clout without ever overdoing things. The drop of course is big room house at its finest, giving the track a crowd-friendly sheen that has seen it work plenty of magic on dancefloors across the globe. It’s certainly a fitting track to mark 200 releases on Revealed, and will have the label’s loyal fanbase hyped for the next 200 and beyond.

Hardwell is hosting his own Revealed label night at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) on October 14th, with tickets on sale now, while ‘Mad World’ hits the stores on October 12th.

Vicetone – I’m On Fire [Spinnin’] (Updated)

They’re on fire, literally. Vicetone played this track in ULTRA Japan a few days before, formerly known with the title “Phoenix”.

Well it seems it’s not a collaboration with KSHMR, as Spinnin’ label and VINAI presented dutch duo’s fresh track on their “Sessions episode #125” and “We Are 103” show respectively, under the name “I’m On Fire“.

Vicetone knows how to build the tension, dropping a sweet groove together with subtle strings and percussion, before unleashing some highly effective chords. It’s a track that works on different levels, melodic as well as rhythmic, beautiful and cool -no doubt I’m On Fire!

Vicetone’s new bomb is available on Beatport.
