Le Visiteur – Yeah [Motion Records] + My Digital Enemy Remix

After the excitement around Amsterdam Dance Event simmers down, some people are still riding high on the crest of success that comes from hard work and natural talent. Introducing rising UK producer and DJ Le Visiteur, who swoops in with his brand new, disco-house cut ‘Yeah’. After maintaining a number 1 spot on the Unsigned ADE Buzz Chart and #12 on the Cool Cuts Chart, as well as recently securing himself a place on the prestigious British Airways Radio, Le Visiteur is further setting his sights on the scene at large with this infectious, soulful take on golden-era French touche beats. After his huge tracks In My Soul and Let The Sunshine (achieving a #2 position on the Beatport disco charts) helped to put his name on the map, this fresh talent is ready to unleash another summer drenched, dance-floor ready bomb.

Le Visiteur has been integral in the UK disco house scene as a resident at Nightfilm, the infamous party ran by cheeky disco duo Mighty Mouse. Also co-signed to the Nightfilm label – that acts as a launch pad for the likes of MM and Du Tonc – he’s been integral to their UK Base, also finding time to remix Du Tonc’s infamous smash, ‘Surging Memories’. When he’s not rolling with these cheeky chappies, he can be found releasing music for the likes of King Street, MVMT, Chop Shop and more.

‘Yeah’ springs to life with pressurized snares and percussive swing, helping to break-out the pace of the track from early on, dancing around a gorgeous soaring vocal sample, before lush strings add atmosphere and tone to the infectious rhythm.

The drop heralds a notch in tempo, highlighted by thumping, hollow kick drums, swelling bass and piano stabs as the funky disco-house roller ups the ante with 4×4 rhythm and deep tones. After a slight moment of respite, the track launches into a full force groove on the break, the piano riffs taking the topline lead as kicks and snares hammer through to the dancefloor.

Avoiding the usual plug-in-bass cliches and over-used ’90s samples, ‘Yeah’ explores another side of house’s ‘French Touche’ era with aplomb and sun-kissed swagger. As this funk machine readies a host of exciting, upcoming plans, keep your eyes and ears firmly locked on this talent as he continues to storm through the modern disco-house scene.

Future-leaning house music harbingers My Digital Enemy are returning to the fold this autumn with another sharp edged slice of razor-gilded house music. Taking inspiration from popular culture, they return with a slammin’ bootleg version of La Roux’s infamous In For The Kill, updating it’s melancholic structure to reveal a dark tinged, UKG edge.

Often seen gracing the likes of Toolroom, Stealth and more, their official bootleg of La Roux’s instant pop classic marks their return to the ever unimitable Zulu Records, the imprint they founded in 2012 as their vehicle for fresh beats (home to global sounds from the likes of Tittsworth, House of Virus and many more).

It’s not the first time the pair have set their sights on more pop-crafted music; having previously worked with and remixed the likes of Snoop Dogg, Beyonce and Groove Armada to name but a few, it’s no surprise that they’re a constant feature on Beatport and Zulu Records finished up 2014 as Beatport’s 5th best-selling house label.

Retaining La Roux‘s instantly recognisable vocal stems, the British duo go to work on crafting the reinvented sound, taking influence from broken beat and UK garage. Raw and untreated snares set the tone for shuffling hi hat percussion and a whistling, ethereal melody underpinning the groove, before bringing in La Roux’s painfully beautiful vocal verse before launching into a haunting, drawn-out UK garage hybrid of the highest calibre.

Their latest stick of dancefloor dynamite pays respectful dues to such a stand out vocal, until the drop heralds a searing, wobbling and unbreakable bassline, springing out of the speakers and paying homage to the UK underground scene as it slays all in its path. Serious dancefloor destruction. Tailored for even the most bass-line focused of sets.

Chuckie & Albert Neve – Damn [Smash The House]

When it comes to stellar collaborations, it doesn’t get much bigger than this. ‘Damn’ is the work of electro house legend Chuckie and Spanish star Albert Neve, a duo who previously set the scene on fire with their remix of Ambush & DJ Obek’s ‘Craissy’ back in 2012. Their debut original collaboration is more of the same, a devastating electro anthem that is perfectly poised to light up dance floors and raise the roof at venues across the planet.

Built around a ‘90s-esque synth riff that dances around the track from the off, where ‘Damn’ really shines is in how these guys have taken their respective experience, and used it to create something that combines old-school cues with modern electro energy. Both Chuckie and Albert have been part of the dance music scene for a number of years, but their ability to remain ahead of the curve while making subtle nods to their roots is clear to see in ‘Damn’. From the pounding percussion, to the bouncy drops, through to the quirky vocal shouts, ‘Damn’ is also a crowd-friendly anthem that should see it go down a storm in DJ sets, with plenty of support from the big guns already under its belt.

‘Damn’ is out now on Smash The House, so be sure to grab your copy as soon as possible.

Jus Jack – Stargazing [TBM | Armada]

It’s no secret that The Bearded Man (TBM) hates the cold. Sure, he can *appreciate* the staggering beauty of a sheer cliff of brilliant white ice in the heart of Antarctica. Yes, the glaciers of Greenland have a spectacular charm to them that will humble you to the core and offer you a sense of other-worldly perspective that’s impossible to find anyone else on Earth. Yes, they make you appreciate how fragile the human condition is, and how even the smallest tweak to our perfect planet’s ecosystem would be enough to destroy life as we know it.

Yes, it’s undeniable that pushing yourself to the physical limit in isolation unlike anything you’ve ever known will reveal more about what it means to be alive than you’ve ever experienced before. How much will you appreciate warmth, food, company, a beach, Ibiza then? All the staggering beauty in the world can’t compete with love, real friendship, and enjoying a special moment together. It may be said that The Bearded Man hates the cold, but then again, when he was Stargazing way up north, most likely while being actively hunted by a polar bear of some kind, he watched the northern lights with a very special someone, and it was a magical moment he’ll never forget.

“Back at it this time with Armada Music indie imprint Bearded Man. I’ve developed a great new vision of how I want to make music. Working with Talented people like i did on this record to make something really special and meaningful. The lyrics, the voice, the live guitars all tell a story. Hope you enjoy this next chapter. I for one, am loving the music I am putting out again, and look forward to getting more songs like this out there. I’ll leave the rest of it for the universe to decide”, Jus Jack wrote on his facebook wall for Stargazing.

Wild Youth2

Wild Youth1

Bali Bandits – Bend It [Revealed]

Release Date: OUT NOW!
Beatport Link: goo.gl/WHsBwj

Since bursting on to the scene in 2014, young Dutch duo Bali Bandits have left quite an impression on the contemporary dance music community. After releasing the standout tracks ‘OOST’ and ‘Need Someone’ through the mighty Revealed Recordings, they have spent their days crafting the audacious ‘Bend It’ – a melodious, energetic and grandiose slice of electro house that takes as many cues from arena filling rock bands as it does from the decorated history of dance music. ‘Bend It’ is available worldwide now!

‘Bend It’ is something of a departure from the Bali Bandits sound we have previously heard; a venture into more melodic and harmonious territory, with added emphasis on breathtaking highs and carefully constructed rhythms. Though the track may be short, it certainly is sweet – packing more intensity and emotion into its two and a half minutes than most producers achieve over the space of a full album. The towering drops and colossal beats of ‘Nosehorn’ and ‘OOST’ are still present, and the spirit of their earlier productions still audible, but ‘Bend It’ progresses their sound to a point far ahead of the crowd of similarly rising talents.

With support from both Revealed Recordings and WOLV records (Dyro’s personal imprint), Bali Bandits are sure to be the next electro-house superstars and break into the upper echelons of the genre with style and flair. With ‘Bend It’ these two young Dutch upstarts have cemented their place in this year’s finest discoveries, whilst simultaneously demonstrating their massive ambition and their desire to expand their already vast scope.

‘Bend It’ is available from Beatport NOW!
