Televisor – Remember Me By (4-track remix EP) [disco:wax]

Following the recent release of Televisor’s uplifting track ‘Remember Me By’ which dropped last week on disco:wax, the Copenhagen-based label have now put out an impressive 4-track remix EP. With each production outfit bringing their own unique style to the track, the ‘Remember Me By Remixes EP’ is a truly invigorating release with universal appeal and is available to purchase now via all digital retailers.

Hailing from the stunning region of Ipanema in Rio De Janerio, Brazil, Cesare’s remix is less Brazilian – more Nu-Disco – tethering Richard Judge’s melodic vocals over crisp percussion and a killer bass hook, bringing a new energy to the track. Elating piano chords and playful panned synths all add to the track’s rich, expansive texture and euphoric quality. Upcoming Swedish talent Osmo brings his signature sound to a masterful arrangement of ‘Remember Me By’ which features marimba samples and a funky guitar riff, all of which contribute to the track’s slick groove and tropical sound.

Burgeoning musicians and LA-based producers Betablock3r infuse their rendition with both live and electronic musical qualities. Richard Judge’s reverberated vocals feature alongside a quirky electric guitar melody and swelling synth refrain to produce a warm and uplifting electro-pop delight. For the final track, Dutch producer Knight One brings the funk with luscious keys and measured cowbell as a soulful, soaring bass-line brings everything together with an undeniably nu-funk texture.

This collection of remixes comes just a week after the release of the original single ‘Remember Me By’ by internationally celebrated duo Televisor. As the track gains momentum the remix package will only further its scope, reaching several different genres and fan-bases within the dance music spectrum.

Axwell is celebrating 10 years of his label releasing #AxtoneTen

Axwell’s Axtone Records are celebrating 10 years of the label and using the opportunity to showcase their finest assets, both musically and visually, with #AxtoneTen selection, witch has sold out!

To that end, Axtone are releasing a limited edition box set with 500 copies worldwide, the contents of which includes: 3 ‘marbled’ vinyl including 12 fan picked tracks (many of which have never been available on the format), a 52 page ‘Axtone Art’ hardback book and a hand illustrated art print. The vinyl marbling process ensures each individual vinyl is completely unique, whilst every box is individually numbered. Accompanying the box set will be a digital album that includes new and exclusive music.

From Axwell himself there’s the french-touch inspired ‘Waiting For So Long (Gloria)‘, a fresh take on Axwell’s ‘I Found U’ from genre-defying Fono, Shapov feat. Justin Tranter ‘Our World’ and Adrian Lux ‘Torn Apart (Klahr Remix)’; the latter 2 tracks, a nod to the future sound of the label from exciting new talent on the roster. In all, the digital album features 44 tracks that feature Axtone classics throughout the past decade, acting as both time capsule and crystal ball.

For a label that’s so synonymous with owner and talisman Axwell, it may be surprising to many that there’s an artist that has appeared on even more releases than Mr Hedfors himself… Axtone art director, Jens Grönberg. The final piece of Axtone Ten is completed with a short film directed by fellow Swede André Hedetoft, delving deeper into Jens’ story, revealing “The Man Behind The Artworks”. Featuring never seen before archive footage of a fresh-faced Axwell, Jens regales us with some choice anecdotes from their long friendship and gives a fascinating insight into the processes behind his work.

Axwell: “To celebrate ten years of Axtone, along with some of our favourite tracks, I wanted to showcase the talents of Jens Grönberg who has been behind the label aesthetic from the start. Without him, Axtone wouldn’t be Axtone”.
Jens: “I’m really happy to work with a label who care as much about the artwork as the music– the fact they give me carte blanche to do what I like is even better! Working on ‘Axtone Ten’ has provided the opportunity to do something I rarely get to do these days, look back”.

‘Axtone Ten’ is released 11th December exclusively through axtone.co/AxtoneTen and available now.

Bsharry – Shiva / Imhotep [BANG IT!]

Bsharry presents his EP on BANG IT! Records, which includes “Shiva” and “Imhotep” tracks.

Avicii rallies huge global prospects for ‘Broken Arrows’ remixes

Avicii’s sophomore album Stories has been widely regarded as a moment of creative reckoning for the experimental dance icon turned proficient pop producer.

With latest single ‘Broken Arrows‘ taking a more traditional approach to the young Swede’s ever expanding sound, its official remixes call upon a wealth of fresh and fortified talents to don their hands to the album’s next conversation starter.

Recent Refune signees M-22 kick-start the package with a key driven run at the country-tinted single, whilst long-serving Aussie duo The Aston Shuffle lower the tempo and execute a beat-savvy and bass-favoring interpretation of the track.

The wild card of the package, Kid’s glitchy trap sound is a welcome surprise from the unknown talent, leaving At Night’s own Didrick to land off the heels of his recent collaboration with Fall Out Boy with an uptempo and reassuringly high octane finale to the accomplished package.

Nero – Into The Night (Official Video) [MTA]

Nero have a knack for curating one-of-a-kind video content. Their new music video for “Into the Night” from BETWEEN II WORLDS album takes us back into their dystopian, cyberpunk world, only this time with an animated spin.

The vocal heavy single, featuring a rare duet from Nero, provides the soundtrack for an action-laden adventure with a heavy nod to classic Japanese anime series like Ghost in the Shell and Akira.

The trio even make a cameo one third of the way through, rocking the virtual stage in animated form. The video was directed by Markus Lundqvist and Dan Stephens (one half of the production side of Nero) with animation by Red Knuckles.

Nero said of the video: “It’s been a dream of ours to commission an animated official video for one of our singles. We’re very proud of this one.”

Arno Cost – ‪#‎RETURN (Piano/Violin/Drums)‬ ‪[Free Download]

Arno Cost is about to unveil his distinctive and groove-ridden musical style with #Return: A free track which is evident in his incredible productions following, such as #Violin#Drums and #Piano that will be available a.s.a.p. for the French’s fans. WAV: bit.ly/returnwav

With his musical sensibilities residing within the realms of electronica, disco and house, Arnos’ production and remix work has attracted praise from some of dance music’s most formidable figures, including David Guetta, Axwell, Avicii, Tiesto, Pete Tong or Sebastian Ingrosso just to name a few.

Down below you can take a taste of these three new tracks, as posted by him on Twitter/FB, which draw Marcus Schossow’s attention pretty quick.

If places can be translated to sounds, Arno Cost’s captivating signature blend of disco, house and pop embodies the multifaceted and sophisticated nature of his home city, Paris. This year Arno Cost has established himself as a premiere rising talent in the international dance music scene with successful releases such as “Coming Home,” an Insomniac-sponsored remix contest for “Rising Love,” and teaming up with WAVO to release his track “At Night.” Most notable, however, has been the launching of his own lifestyle brand “When in Paris.” The radio show was first created as an outlet to showcase his new music and highlight fellow up-and-coming French producers, but it’s swift rise in popularity amongst fans was soon enough to merit its own live event series. Arno held a personally curated “When in Paris” night at the Amsterdam Dance Event and in Paris this year, which featured music by the Paris native himself as well as Nicky Romero, Norman Doray, Mike Mago, Gregor Salto, NEW_ID, Hard Rock Sofa, Kryder, and more. The night fused the indulgent nuances of house music with Cost’s French progressive and the magic of ADE. It was so memorable that Arno decided to immortalize it with a track: “I was so inspired by the last When in Paris during the Amsterdam Dance Event that I wanted to create something that mixed that amazing spirit with the groove of Paris. This is a sound I want to explore more and a bit of a step outside of the box for me. I didn’t want you all to wait for release schedules of record”.

Above & Beyond – Hello [Acoustic II]

Above & Beyond set off a wave of hysteria among fans when they revealed 2016 would bring about the release of Acoustic II and even larger world tour. The Anjuna leaders recently announced which iconic venues they’ll be hitting in a stoic black-and-white video accompanied by audio in the background assumed to be a snippet off their new album.

Earlier this morning, it was revealed on the band’s Soundcloud that what was previewed in the video was a taste of their acoustic version of “Hello.” Bass and piano solos gently sprinkle the background while sweeping string sections inject drama into the composition.

Listening closer, Zoë Johnston’s voice subtly makes an appearance, singing the words “bring me,” a hint that “Peace Of Mind” could possibly part of the finished track. Regardless of whether or not this is the case, covering “Hello” acoustically is a change of pace for the new album, which saw only vocal Above & Beyond tracks before.

So take a small taste of Above & Beyond’s forthcoming album ‘Acoustic II’. The trio will perform with a full band at some of the world’s most iconic venues including London’s Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House and LA’s Hollywood Bowl. Head to aboveandbeyond.nu/acoustic to pre-order the CD album and view the full list of dates.
