Nameless Records Releases Hype On This Album

Italian imprint Nameless Records has invited a host of new Italian artists to their roster as they announce the release of their highly anticipated ‘Hype On This’ album. With a focus on the finest home-grown electronic acts, the label is staying true to its ethic of bringing the Italian scene to a global audience.

Setting the tone with ‘The Night’, Marble’s rough and unique style introduces the album with a bang. Using integrated soundscapes & vocoder vocals, the young producer creates a growing sense of intrigue and suspense to kick off the album.

Tommy Scala then increases the momentum with ‘Blue Line,’ combining infectious vocal chops, drum breaks and moving piano excursions in a pop-centric cut. Next up is a multi genre anthem from Hozones, fusing future bass, trap and pop elements into one track ‘Sleep Alone.’

Slowing down the tempo is Jeysiel’s ‘Marahute’ with rising arpeggiated chords and vocal cuts underpinning the emotive melody.

The fifth track, Dopesquad’s ‘Bad Boys Cry’ is another musical hybrid, ebbing and flowing between the smooth melodious topline and the relentless bass and stabbing synths.

Turning up the bass for ‘Rogue’, PRZI & SLVR have joined forces yet again, boasting their diverse range of captivating production techniques with energetic chord progressions and kinetic synth drops.

Treeko’s addition to the album ‘Haters’ adds a darker more tension-fuelled element to the album, utilising wiry synths and intense builds.

Capping off the LP is Marble again, this time teaming up with HateMySurname. Another explosively experimental masterpiece, ‘Tired’ combines delicate synths and oriental strings with deep basslines.

With another bass fuelled gem from Marble and Not For Us tucked away as a bonus track on Spotify, make sure to save the full ‘Hype On This’ album to your library for the free download of ‘KKKRRR’, first heard on This Song Slaps.

Exposing Italy’s finest up and coming talents, it’s safe to say this congruent album will uphold Nameless record’s serious authority within the global electronic scene.

DRUM&BASSARENA Celebrate 20 Years In The Business With Iconic Compilation And Historical Website Launch

Ever since The Risky established Drum&BassArena in Sheffield back in 1996, the brand has been at the very forefront of bass music’s ever-evolving sonic makeup – consistently joining the dots between drum & bass artists and the genre’s loyal community.

After winning ‘Best Music Business Website’ at the Music Week Awards in 1999, Drum&BassArena launched its compilation series in 2001, an album mixed by Andy C.

Fast forward to 2016 and Drum&BassArena now boasts over 1 million album sales. The series is the best selling drum & bass compilation series of all time – a testament to the label’s visionary ambitions and ability to consistently curate the very best of the scene.

Even in today’s fiercely competitive market, the brand remains a vital cog in the world’s bass music machine.

To celebrate 20 years in the business in 2016, the label has compiled a special compilation that brings together some of the most iconic releases throughout the history of drum & bass.

From 1996’s legendary anthem Nightflight by Shimon & Andy C, or Chase & StatusHurt You, a track that topped the UK Dance chart in 2008 and got them a nomination at the BRIT Awards, to Rudimental’s Feel The Love, which peaked at #1 on the UK Singles chart back in 2012 and went double platinum in Australia – the new compilation provides a comprehensive look back at the records that have helped shape & define drum & bass throughout the years.

Further classics from the likes of Pendulum, DJ Zinc, Dillinja and DJ Hazard are all notable inclusions across the three parts, sitting alongside a whole host of records from major drum & bass acts such as The Prototypes, Sigma, Wilkinson, Noisia and Netsky.

To further celebrate the label’s birthday, Drum&BassArena chronicled their best memories to share with the world – from key moments and releases to trivia and events, all into a brand new online platform, inviting the whole community to contribute to the timeline, which offers the most comprehensive insight into the scene to date: https://20.breakbeat.co.uk/

Drum&BassArena will also commemorate their two decades of activity throughout the next year, hosting events and stages around the world including Let It Roll Festival, Sundown, The Social Festival and international tour dates in Australia, Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary and many more.

Crucially important to dance music’s past, present and future, Drum&BassArena 20 Years serves as the perfect tribute to a brand whose legacy continues to inspire.

Gautam Khaw & JP Lantieri – Fantasy EP [Flemcy Music]

UK-based Flemcy Music have seen nothing short of a meteoric rise to the top of the dance music league since boss JP Lantieri formed the label in August last year after relocating to London.

The well-travelled and multi-talented Frenchman has grown his roster to include names such as Peter Pavlov, Mystik Vybe and Jay Maguire, releasing countless critically acclaimed EP’s and adding to an impressive personal CV which includes 2 albums, a gold VIMA award for Best Electro/Dance act in 2012 and featuring on several compilations over the years.

During his time producing music and DJing in Malaysia, JP Lantieri came into contact with promising local, Gautam Khaw, who was making a name for himself with his unique blend of Progressive Trance & Techno, inspired by the likes of Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond.

Khaw, himself, had already made some waves in the UK with time spent studying, making and playing music in London and Bristol so it was a meeting of minds when they both hooked up and the result is the ‘Fantasy EP’ which is due for release on Beatport on October 5th and all other leading platforms as of the 19th.

Comprising of title track ‘Fantasy’ and ‘Just You’, the ‘Fantasy EP’ is a solid debut collaboration. High in energy, ‘Fantasy’ is a driving Techno-tinged Progressive Trance beast with a euphoric, string-led break that will get plenty of peak time play at some of the world’s biggest festivals.

‘Just You’ is a more reserved, house-influenced track which displays both producer’s range of styles. With cut-up vocal samples and warm pads, this is sure to be a warm-up or cool down favourite at the same venues worldwide.

Available on Beatport
