• EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH ONE OF CANADA’S MOST TALENTED DUOS LOUD LUXURY

Having gained international attention for their remix of Dzeko & Torres’ hit single “Home“, which reached #3 on the HypeM charts only to follow up with a #1 on the charts with their unofficial remix of Justin Timeberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling”, Canadian duo Loud Luxury have been creating quite a stir in the dance music scene around the globe as of late. With just a handful of releases under their belt, the Toronto based producers, also known as Andrew Fedyk and Joe Depace, managed quickly to garner the support of major taste makers, such as Tiesto, Oliver Heldens, and Martin Garrix, just to name a few. Following a host of successful singles on AFTR:HRS and Armada Music labels, while landing festival bookings across North America, the skilled youngsters are destined to have a future that appears bright, as they try to conquer the dance music world…one tequila shot at a time. Viralbpm sat down with Loud Luxury to talk about their latest releases, upcoming tracks and future goals.

V1. Recently you had a great release on Armada Records, featuring Brando, called Body, on Armada. How did this collaboration and release happen?

Loud Luxury: When we first moved to LA, we went to a show to meet up with random artist that we found on SoundCloud. brando was actually at the same show opening and we hit it off.

V2. How do you feel about the final outcome of the track as a whole? Could you tell us something about the creative process of the track?

Loud Luxury: Body is an interesting track because brando actually had made the idea like a slow, 100 BPM DJ Mustard style hip-hop beat. We ended up flipping it on it’s head and making this more emotional, upbeat song and the vibe completely changed. It felt really different.

V3. What do you have planned regarding releases and songs for the coming months? Anything you would like (and are allowed) to reveal to us for now?

Loud Luxury: We recently signed to Armada Music which we are really excited about. It gives us the outlet and support we need to get our sound out there. We won’t say much yet but the follow-up to Body is ready to go.

V4. How are the two of you working together in the studio? Or to pick it right from the start, how did you meet and decided to become a producer duo?

Loud Luxury: We met at a university in Canada that has a big reputation for being a party school. We were both super passionate about the electronic music scene and wanted a platform to share it. When we started, we would grind to get any gig we could – selling tickets, playing frat parties, bar mitzvahs, anything. Eventually, our production got good enough that we would upload music to SoundCloud and that’s when it really took off. That was the first time we had people all over the world hearing and supporting our music.

V5. How would you describe your beats, style and music in general?

Loud Luxury: Deep house with a shot of tequila

V6. Is there something in particular you want to achieve as an artist or maybe with your music? Any goals you might have? Professional but also in a more artistic manner.

Loud Luxury: Getting our sound out there to as many people as possible. We don’t want it to be just a North American or European thing. We’re really inspired by an artist like Drake. He not only has created an incredible sound, but created a global sound.

V7. With a heavy and loaded schedule like yours, do you have enough time to focus on other things aside from music related things?

Loud Luxury: Always have time for a weekend getting lost in Ibiza!
