Listen Back To Mind Against’s Essential Mix From BBC Radio 1

Berlin-based Italian techno outfit Mind Against delivered Pete Tong’s legendary Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 over the weekend, turning in two hours of finely honed technoid melancholia. Having spent the past couple of years honing their talents in the modern home of techno and being feted by the likes of Boiler Room and Resident Advisor, the Fognini brothers will be stepping up to a global platform to demonstrate just why how their unique style IDM  blended with house and techno has been garnering so much attention.

Commenting on being asked to deliver a mix for such a prestigious series, the brothers said; “while our recent mixes were focused on more ambient or home listening selections, when recording our Essential Mix we really wanted to show how our DJ sets are sounding at the moment. We’ve included a lot of secret weapons, unreleased materials from ourselves and friends and tried to make it all sound like a journey we’d both be happy to take on a dancefloor. The mix is powerful yet also very personal – and definitely melancholic. We hope you guys will like it as much as we enjoyed selecting and mixing down the tracks.”

Known for their melancholy yet energetic mixture of dark, dubby and synth led techno, Mind Against have collaborated with the likes of Tale Of Us, Recondite and Locked Groove, with DJ support coming from  the cream of the techno circuit including Scuba and DJ Tennis, plus releases on labels such as Hotflush and Life And Death.
