Otto Knows feat. Avicii – Back Where I Belong |Big Beat Records|

Avicii might be retiring from touring, but he’s far from done with making music. The superstar DJ’s first piece of post-announcement music, a collaboration with fellow Swede Otto Knows, is now available through Big Beat Records.

Otto Knows recently hopped on Twitter to share news of the release. “New song I made with Avicii out on Friday!” he wrote.

The track has a pointed title that appears to address Avicii’s decision to walk away from touring to focus on his personal life: “Back Where I Belong.”

The Swedish producer then teased a new track and now the lyric video for the song has arrived online a day ahead of its official release.

As the first new song from Avicii since Stories, and the first and only track that he’s ever been featured on, “Back Where I Belong” is a pretty big deal for fans of the DJ.

Featuring an unknown vocalist (though it’s rumored to be Bebe Rexha), the lyrics of the song clearly reflect where Tim Bergling is at in his life, making it a fitting release for him to put out at this time.

Main stage friendly and featuring those infectious melodies that Avicii is so well known for, “Back Where I Belong” marks a return to form for him and is yet another strong effort from his pal Otto Knows.

Boasting emotional vocals and shimmering synths, the track is a powerful dance anthem that will no doubt find its way into numerous sets at festivals around the world this summer.

“I just feel happy,” he told Billboard not long after the announcement. “I feel free at this point. Like I have my private life back and focusing on myself for the first time in a long time. This was obviously the hardest decision of my life so far. But so far it has paid off tremendously in terms of well-being for me. I’m happier than I have been in a very very long time.”

The two producers actually knew each other in their childhoods, and the artwork for the single is a legitimate picture from that time.
